ABOUT AMRAVATI

Vidarbha’s presiding deity Ambadevi is at Amravati. It was here that the activities of Sant Tukdoji Maharaj, Sant Gadge Maharaj, Sant Gulabrao Maharaj who was blind gained momentum. The spellbinding Chikhaldara hill station and Melghat forests of Amravati are main tourist attraction. Teakwood trees, rare medicinal herbs, tigers and other wild beasts are sighted in these forests. Jagdamba Kushthdham, Hanuman Vyayam Prasarak Mandal and biggest drama theatre of Maharashtra, are the distinctive features of the district.
